Content is King but how much text on a website to add

Many will say Content is King but how much text on a website to add is the question that I find many clients ponder over.

Before, the internet is a place for users to market their products and services.  It was just another avenue to showcase what a company has to offer.  That was eons ago, and now, the internet is not just a marketing tool but an opportunity for your business to prosper.  Almost all companies who rely on the power of internet use consider options so that they can be visible and popular to a wide variety of customers.  The services and products you offer is one thing, but more importantly, the content is another story if you want to level up the playing field.

Of course any online business guru will claim that content is king but how much text should you really add on your website?  This is actually tricky because it really depends on a number of elements.  You can determine how much text on a website to add if you consider the demands of your clientele first.  Are they willing to read a whole novel about the products and services that you offer?  Others appreciate websites more for their brief but informative content, so do consider the kind of demographic you have before creating content for your website.

Most established webmasters will also agree that the most appropriate amount of text appearing on your website should be no more than a thousand words.  Then some say that you should use no more than 500 words of text due to visitors who tend to read by quick eye sight scanning. You would not want to saturate your clients with word play right?  Your main goal is to provide a quality and useful information.  So be smart about placing contents on your website.  The key to knowing the elements of having a good content and how much text on a website to add is balance.  When you achieve balance with your content then you can be sure to drive traffic to your website.

Another element that you may want to consider on how much text on a website to add is a good interplay of design and technology.  Imagine yourself as the customer and you can settle on how much text on a website to add.  Design governs the over all appearance of your website.  The color, fonts and pictures are all part of the design.  Technology on the other hand is the technical aspect of your website.  It is the ‘coding’ that software engineers do so that your website can function fully in a browser environment.

Still at the end of the day, content will still be king and how much text on a website to add is really up to you for as long as you drive loads of traffic to your website then that will be fine. I say, just write what ever comes natural and let it flow.
